And fortunately, that’s the case for the people you can see in the photo.

Norwegian company Egersund Trål is one of the customers that makes frequent use of the flume tank in Hirtshals, and they were here again recently.

Research & Development Manager Arvid Sæstad and Project Manager Wenche Vigrestad from Egersund spent a day in the flume tank, carrying out tests on various new trawls.

This is the sixth time this year they have tested trawls in Flume Tank North Sea, and it is an important part of their development work.

“We use the flume tank to test our various new models before they go into production. In this way, we can ensure they perform as intended and make any final adjustments if necessary.”

“It’s really valuable for us to see the models with our own eyes in the tank. It gives us a detailed overview that we can’t get in the same way by using digital simulations,” they say.

Among other things, Egersund Trawl tested a pelagic trawl, which can be seen in the photos.
