At the beginning of March, we had a visit from a well-known organization that has been a guest in the flume tank for many years.

The English organization Seafish visited the tank for two days, where they demonstrated and talked about fishing gear to decision-makers such as government officials, processors, regulators, and retailers.

Seafish is a non-departmental public body supporting the UK seafood industry across the entire supply chain; from catching and farming to processing, distribution, and retail.

Seafish were represented by three people, while there were 14 guests.

"Our purpose for the days was to educate the decision-makers. What different types of fishing gear are there, and how do they work? It has been a great few days, and we really enjoy coming here to the flume tank with different guests. It is a really good facility, and the staff are both very competent and easy to work with," says David Warwick, Fishing Gear Innovation Manager at Seafish.

According to David Warwick, the guests were particularly interested in learning about selective fishing gear that helps reduce bycatch.
