Over the last few days, the focus has been on aquaculture in the flume tank.
Norwegian company Egersund Net visited us this week with three employees, and there were several different activities on the agenda.
Monday was spent preparing and testing, and Tuesday they were visited by a client with 13 representatives who participated in the testing of a sweep net (kastenot), which is a gentle, effective and sustainable method used when harvesting fish from the cage.
“The client knows how to use the gear, and we know how to make it. It’s really good to come here to the flume tank and test this kind of equipment. We should do this much more often,” says Monica Dybing from Egersund Net.
On Wednesday, Egersund Net also carried out various tests, and at the same time a group of Norwegian aquaculture students from Østvoll visited to see equipment in the tank.
