We have once again had an exciting visit to the flume tank – this time related to defence and surveillance equipment.

Recently, the Danish-based company Nereus Dynamics spent a day at our facility testing their hybrid drone, capable of moving from underwater operation to airborne flight in less than a second. It is the first of its kind in Europe.

The company brought a Navy Special Warfare diver (Frogman) along for the test, focusing on underwater launch and transition to flight with underwater remote control and real-time thermal imaging streamed to the diver.

Nereus Dynamics gained a wealth of valuable insights from the day, and they hope to return for further tests and trials.
